YSU Innovation Projects Listed in Top 500 of 7th "Maker in China" SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

The Bureau of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has recently released the Announcement on the List of Top 500 of the 7th "Maker in China" SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, on which YSU innovative projects of "Zhiqing Technology –Customized Research and Development for Hydraulic Drive of High-end Mobile Equipment" and "3-PUU Parallel 3D Free Bending Forming Robot" from the team of Maker Community of YSU are enrolled in 2022.

"Maker in China" SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Finance, aiming at further enhancing the innovation ability and specialization level of SMEs and creating the source of innovative SMEs. A total of 35 regional competitions, 6 industrial chain collaborative competitions, 5 key industry special competitions and 1 overseas regional competition were held, with over 37,000 projects enrolled. Ten projects of Hebei Province were shortlisted in this competition, of which only two projects of Qinhuangdao City are both from YSU.

As one of the first batch of national creative spaces in Qinhuangdao City, Maker Community of YSU is an important carrier of YSU National University Science Park. It has always regarded the innovation and entrepreneurship competition as an important channel for the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and actively provided incentives to, increased the investment in and deeply explored the high-quality projects. In the early stage of the competition, Maker Community made a plan ahead of time, provided incentives, launched the online Maker training camp, invited well-known instructors in the industry to give lectures and one-on-one accurate guidance to the projects around modules such as project refinement and roadshow training, actively organized teams to prepare for the competition, and helped the teams to optimize and upgrade their projects according to high standards. Since 2019, the entrepreneurial teams guided by Maker Community have won 10 national awards and 51 provincial awards in the innovation and entrepreneurship competitions such as the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, “Maker in China” SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, “China’s Innovation Wing” Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition, “Internet plus” College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and “Challenge Cup” College Students Entrepreneurship Competition.

For a long time, YSU National University Science Park has given full play to the advantages of comprehensive resources including the talents, science and technology, intelligence, etc., strengthened the university – locality – enterprise coordination and linkage, and promoted the incubation of S&T enterprises and the transfer and transformation of S&T achievements. Through the carriers such as "Maker Community of YSU", "Qian'an Branch of YSU National University Science Park", "Haigang Branch of YSU National University Science Park" and "Development Zone Branch of YSU National University Science Park", YSU National University Science Park continuously improved the innovation and entrepreneurship practice service platform, and incubated a large number of outstanding start-ups such as Xiaoma IoT, Shiny VR, Jiangming Technology, Yanshu Thermal Energy, etc., contributing to the industrial transformation and upgrading and the high-quality economic and social development in Hebei.
