Recently, the national competition of the 15th Chinese College Students Computer Design Contest 2022, which was started half a year ago, published the results. Yanshan University received 1 first prize at the national level, 8 second prizes at the national level and 10 third prizes at the national level.
The college trial was co-organized by the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, the School of Information Science and Engineering (School of Software) and the Engineering Training Center. 129 teams of 330 students participated in the competition. After college competition, Yanshan University recommended and sent 75 teams to enter the provincial competition. In the provincial competition, Yanshan University won 63 awards at the provincial level, including 15 first prizes, 19 second prizes and 29 third prizes. In the meantime, 24 teams made it to the national competition. At the final national competition, the entry titled “Pursue the Secret of Transforming ER Model to Relational Model” under the guidance of teachers from the School of Information Science and Engineering (School of Software) won the first prize at the national level.

Yanshan University has participated in this competition since 2014. It is the 9th time that Yanshan University takes part in the competition. In this contest, compared to previous contests, Yanshan University dispatches the most students to participate in the widest range of categories. Due to the impact of the COVID-19, all 69 sub-categories of 15 categories were organized by online means. The contest was carried out in the form of three-level competition, that is, all entries should be subject to the selection of college competition, provincial competition (including national competition direct reporting platform) and national competition (consisting of preliminary and final). Supported by the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, the School of Information Science and Engineering (School of Software), the Engineering Training Center and the School of Arts and Design, the college review and selection was organized by groups in 5 venues. Yanshan University successfully recommended and sent winning teams to the provincial competition. In the provincial competition, all teams prepared excellent demonstration videos and detailed instructions, providing an important basis for review. After the review and selection of the provincial competition, the national competition organized two levels of appraisal and comparison, namely the online review at the preliminary of the national competition and the online reply at the final of the national competition, to select excellent works. Yanshan University has been encouraging all participating teams to carry out interdisciplinary cooperation and give play to the complementary advantages of members. All teams made thorough preparations, and constantly improved the works. This achievement is the result of the joint efforts of the participating teachers and students, and demonstrates that our students have excellent innovative and practical abilities. It also represents an important achievement of Yanshan University attaching importance to innovative education and teaching reform.

Established in 2008, the Chinese College Students Computer Design Contest is co-organized by the Ministry of Education and the computer-related education steering committee. It is one of the events included in the Chinese college discipline competition ranking list, and also one of the important events Yanshan University designates as class I competitions. The contest has held 14 sessions. The contest guides students to actively participate in extracurricular scientific activities, and is the “second classroom” for college students. The contest is aimed at inspiring students’ interest and potential in acquiring computer knowledge and skills, and improving their ability to use information technology to solve practical problems. It is designed to satisfy the need to improve the professional competence and facilitate the employment of students. Its fundamental purpose is to meet the need of transforming students to interdisciplinary, compound and application-oriented talents with all-round moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic grounding with a hard-working spirit, a sense of teamwork and a spirit and competence of innovation and entrepreneurship.
