Recently, the Commission ofNational Natural Science Foundation of Chinapublished the 2023Foreign Scholar Research Fund Projectreview result ofNational Natural Science Foundation of China, showing that the project“Constructing Novel Graphene-based Heterostructures for Alkali-metal ion batteries”chaired by the foreign teacherRehman Javedof School of Materials Science and Engineering was approved and won a fund of RMB 400 thousand.The project is our firstForeign Scholar Research Fund Projectapproved byNational Natural Science Foundation of China, representing an important breakthrough of Yanshan University in basic research and internationaltechnologicalcooperation.

Rehman JavedwonMaster of Philosophyin 2015 from theIslamiaUniversityofBahawalpurand won the doctoral degree ofmaterialphysical chemistry in 2021 from Jilin University.He worked as a physics lecturer inUniversity of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences, Balochistan, Pakistansince 2016, and was then introduced to Yanshan University as a full-time foreign teacher in 2023.So far, he has published 13 academic papers, including 9 SCI papers asthefirst author orcorrespondingauthor, mainly studying theoretical filtering of metal ion battery anode of two-dimensional layered material based onDensity Functional Theory.
It is learned that theForeign Scholar Research Fund ProjectofNational Natural Science Foundation of Chinaaims to support foreign excellent scientific researchers who voluntarily carry out research in China, which allows foreign researchers to independently selecttopicsfrom the funding scope ofNational Natural Science Foundation of Chinato conduct basic research in mainland China, thereby promoting long-term, stable academic cooperation and exchange between foreign and domestic scholars.
