Discipline Development and Research Achievements

TheSHL has one provincial key discipline – Administration Management – and four provincial humanities and social science research bases, including the Hebei Provincial Philosophical and Social Science Research Base for Local Government Reform and Development, the Hebei Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Base, the Yanshan University Innovation Research Center of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Collaborative Development Management, and the Hebei Public Policy Evaluation Research Center. The school also has ten university research institutes, including the YSU E-Government Research Center, the YSU Institute of International Politics and Economy, the YSU Institute of Judicial Reform, the YSU Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy, the YSU Research Center of Public-Private-Partnership (PPP), the YSU Logic and Recognition Institute, the YSU Institute of Public Governance, the YSU Institute of Cross-Strait Relations and Regional Development, the YSU Institute of China University Evaluation and Development, and the YSU Institute of Local Legislation (Qinhuangdao City Base of Local Legislation Research and Consultation). The school also has some simulation centers, a teaching and research platform, including a school library, a decision-making theater, a mock court, a radio and television teaching laboratory, a legal professional training center, an e-government laboratory, among others.

In recent years, the school has conducted over 300 research projects, including national-level projects, provincial and ministerial-level projects, and has received over 50 research awards. The school’s staff have published approximately 3000 academic papers, of which over 300 paperspublishedin SSCI,CSSCI,SCD, andEI indexed journals, and more than 40 papers have been reprinted in Xinhua Digest and Periodical Literatures Reprinted by China People’s University. Furthermore, the school’s staff have also published 30 monographs and 10 textbooks.
