On February 17, the 2021 and 2022 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award Ceremony was held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Prof. Yan Xiyun, part-time academician employed by Yanshan University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, won the 2021 Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation. A total of 112 outstanding scientists won the 2021 and 2022 prizes for scientific and technological progress of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation.
Prof. Yan Xiyun has long been engaged in oncology research and made innovative and systematic contributions to the discovery of new tumor targets and the transformation of achievements. "Discovery of Nanozymes" and "Applied Research of Nanozymes" were listed in the "Top Ten Scientific Advances in China" in 2007 and 2012 respectively. Their applied research has expanded to cover many fields such as disease diagnosis and treatment, green energy, environmental governance, food processing, genetic engineering, etc., giving Chinese researchers a lead globally in the field they created. Professor Yan won the honors of the first National Innovation Prize, the C.C. Tan Life Science Awards, the Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, the title of Highly Cited Author, the title of World's Top 1% Scientists, and the title of National March 8th Red-banner Pacesetter. In 2015, she was elected as the first female president of the Asian Biophysics Association.
Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation was founded by Hong Kong patriotic financiers Ho Sin Hang, Leung Kau-Kui, Ho Tim and Lee Quo-Wei in 1994 to reward outstanding Chinese scientists and serve the modernization of the country. In the past 29 years, the foundation has given awards to a total of 1,526 outstanding scientists and become a successful exemplar for Chinese civil society to set up scientific and technological awards. It has also played an active role in enhancing the vitality of China's scientific and technological development and cultivating independent innovative talents.
