Yanshan University has recently signed an agreement with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro to formally establish a friendly and cooperative relationship. This is the second Brazilian university that has established friendly relations with YSU.
According to the agreement, the two universities will jointly promote teacher-student exchanges, joint talent training, co-hosted conferences, and scientific research cooperation. YSU will also take this opportunity to further improve its global cooperation network, integrate high-quality educational resources, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Brazilian universities, promote the common development of higher education in the two countries, and contribute to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was formally established on July 7, 1920. Its history can be traced back to the Royal Academy of Artillery established in 1792 and the National School of Fine Arts established in 1820. The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, which is the largest federal university in Brazil, ranks 333rd in QS World Universities Rankings 2023 and is among Brazil's top three universities. In addition to being one of the important medical research centers in Brazil, the university enjoys a worldwide reputation in the fields of biological science and electronic technology. It's also known as the cradle of university professors in Brazil.
