On August 17, the School of International Education of YSU launched a social practice activity themed "Art Town of Beautiful Yinli" for its international students. Ten students from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Morocco, Turkmenistan, and other countries visited Yinwogou Town, Weichang County, Chengde City, which is a designated poverty alleviation town of YSU. The students learned about the high-quality achievements of China's rural revitalization efforts and understood the changes and development models of the rural areas.
In Yinli Village Harvest Park, the international students presented 56 local primary and middle school students with new schoolbags to show their love and care, and interacted with the latter in both Chinese and English, introducing the geographical location, customs, ecological environment and cultural characteristics of their home countries; the sight of foreigners is rare in the local children's lives. Full of curiosity and excitement, the children took photos with the foreign students and told them about their study and life in the village and the changes that had taken place here in recent years. The interaction between the Chinese and foreign students sparked enthusiasm and sincerity. The exchanges between Chinese and foreign cultures have added an international hue to rural revitalization.
Zhou Changjun, deputy Party director of the village, and representatives of the working team based in Yinli Village introduced to the international students the developments and changes of Yinli Village and the achievements of YSU's poverty alleviation efforts. The international students also visited Yinli Handicraft Square and Mulan Wood Art Exhibition Center. The international students said that they would share with their families and friends what they have seen and heard in the rural areas, in Hebei Province, and in China at large. They also expressed their determination to become envoys of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. They will tell Chinese stories well and make contributions to building a stronger community with a shared future for mankind.
