On January 9, the Election Conference of National Standardization Technical Committee for Fluid Power & the First Session of the Ninth Conference, and the Election of Sub-committee & the First Session was held in Ningbo. The conference was hosted by the National Standardization Technical Committee for Fluid Power and Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. During the conference, Yanshan University was recognized as a prominent contributor for development of national standards, and Professor Cai Wei from the university’s School of Mechanical Engineering was awarded as an excellent worker in standardization.

They are an important aspect of a country's fundamental system, and play a fundamental and leading role in promoting national modernization. Cai Wei has been involved in the work of standardization in representation of Yanshan University since 2016, and has led the compilation of three national standards. He has also participated in the development of three international standards, five national standards, and two social organization standards. Cai Wei has published one standard promotion textbook and has been appointed as a member of two technical committees of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the Pumps and Motors Sub-committee of National Standardization Technical Committee for Fluid Power.
In order to give full play to the leading role of the industry model, the National Standardization Technical Committee for Fluid Power commended the exemplary organizations and individuals that have actively participated in the standardization work for fluid power. A total of 25 organizations were rated as "Prominent Contributor for Development of National Standards", including four universities: Zhejiang University, Xiamen University, Yanshan University and Wuhan University of Science and Technology. Twenty-four experts were titled "Excellent Worker in Standardization", 5 of whom were from universities.
The honor marks an affirmation of YSU’s achievements in the standardization work of fluid power, and also reflects the significant contribution of the university in boosting fluid power technology. In the future, Yanshan University will continue to devote to standardization work in related fields, keep close ties with domestic and foreign enterprises and universities, and make contributions to China's technological progress and standardization.
