Recently, the 13th China Functional Glass Academic Symposium and New Optoelectronic Materials International Forum, co-organized by the Special Glass Branch of the Chinese Ceramic Society and the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and hosted by YSU, was held in Qinhuangdao. Over 300 experts, professors, young scholars, company representatives, and graduate students from more than 20 universities and research institutes across China, as well as from France, Italy, Denmark, and South Korea, participated in the Symposium.
Guests invited to the Symposium included Gao Ruiping, President of the Chinese Ceramic Society, Peng Shou, Chief Scientist of China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd., and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Tian Yongjun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Riping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Hu Lili, President of the Special Glass Branch of the Chinese Ceramic Society, Yue Yuanzheng, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, Qiu Jianrong and Jiang Shibin, Academicians of the World Academy of Ceramics, and Dai Shixun, Vice President of Ningbo University. YSU President Zhao Dingxuan and Vice President Wang Limin also attended the Symposium.

In his speech, Zhao Dingxuan expressed his welcome and gratitude to the participants and said that YSU will take this Symposium as an opportunity to gather academic resources, attract academic talents, and collect valuable insights, to make intellectual contributions to promoting the development of new productive forces, and functional glass and new optoelectronic materials.
Gao Ruiping briefly introduced the development history of the Chinese Ceramic Society and its Special Glass Branch and expressed his hopes that the experts and scholars will adhere to the attitude of advocating science and make intellectual contributions to promoting technological innovation and industrial development in the field of glass in this Symposium.
Hu Lili introduced the Symposium agenda and expressed gratitude to the participating universities, research institutes, and sponsoring companies. She also expressed gratitude to the Symposium’s organizing team led by Professor Liu Shimin.

Professor Giulio Monaco from the University of Padova, Italy, Professor Yue Yuanzheng from Aalborg University, Denmark, Chief Researcher Zhang Xianghua from the CNRC (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique), Professor Yong Gyu Choi from Korea Aerospace University, Professor Qiu Jianrong from Zhejiang University, Researcher Dai Shixun, Vice President of Ningbo University, Jia Jinsheng, General Manager of the Beijing Branch of China National Building Material Academy Co., Ltd., Professor Yu Jianding from the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Tao Haizheng from Wuhan University of Technology, Professor Zhao Zhisheng from YSU, Professor Zhang Yu from Jilin University, and Researcher Hu Lili from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, each delivered an invited report to the Symposium. The reports covered the latest research achievements, cutting-edge trends, technological breakthroughs, and prospects in the field of special glass, providing attendees with valuable opportunities for academic sharing and intellectual exchange.

The Symposium included four parallel sessions and one graduate student session. Eighty-two renowned experts delivered guest speeches and 50 outstanding graduate students shared their research findings. Focused on hot topics such as basic glass science issues and functional glass technology and applications, the parallel sessions promoted in-depth exchanges of professional knowledge and inspired new research ideas.

The China Functional Glass Academic Symposium and New Optoelectronic Materials International Forum serves as an important platform for academic exchanges among researchers and technical personnel in the functional glass industry in China.
