YSU 31 Teachers and Students were invited to attend 2017 “Talents Approaching Liuzhou”

[News from News Center] On Sep. 26^th, 2017 “Talents Approaching Liuzhou” Program, sponsored by Liuzhou Municipal People’s Government, started and attracted 147 Master’s Degree Candidates, Ph.D. Candidates and chaperons to attend the activity in Liuzhou. 10 key universities including Tianjin University, Jilin University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, East China University of Science and Technology, YSU were invited. YSU Vice President Dingxuan Zhao was invited by Liuzhou Municipal People’s Government to lead YSU team to attend this activity. 28 graduate students were selected by Admissions and Career Development Services to go on the trip.

YSU team visited Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd, Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College, City Planning Exhibition Hall, and Museum of Science & Industry, gaining a deep understanding of the city construction, city appearance, companies, culture and education, and a deep feeling of the charm of this historic and cultural city.

After the activity, Dingxuan Zhao addressed the “The Impressions of Liuzhou” symposium on behalf of YSU team. He fully recognized the measures Liuzhou Municipal People’s Government took to attract talents and praised that the annual activity attracted high-quality talents gathering in Liuzhou. He extended his gratitude to Organization Department under Liuzhou City Municipal Committee, Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Talents Office for their elaborate organization and hard work, and wished this Program a better future.

“Talents Approaching Liuzhou” Program is a key talent project of Liuzhou City. About 200 Master’s Degree and Ph.D. holders and other high-level talents are invited to visit and investigate Liuzhou. Talents are attracted to start and develop businesses here. YSU began to be invited last year and was welcomed by employers because of previous competent organization and sound performance of YSU graduate students. 6 of 10 attendees signed contracts with Liuzhou last year, producing good effect, thus the number of invited attendees increased this year. Therefore, YSU was the university with the largest number of invited attendees. Liuzhou has been the hotspot of YSU graduates to find employment. According to incomplete statistics, 53 YSU undergraduates and 27 graduates were employed in Liuzhou between 2011 and 2017, involving most YSU disciplines, including: machinery, electrical engineering, materials, information, environmental and chemical engineering, civil engineering, vehicle, foreign studies, humanities and law, economics and management, and arts. Employers include enterprises and public institutions like Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd, Guangxi Liuzhou Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd, SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile (SGWA), China Railway 25^thBureau Group Co., Ltd, China Telecom Guangxi Branch, Guangxi University of Science and Technology.
