[News from News Center] From Oct. 20thto 22nd, the 2017 Chinese Automation Congress (CAC) sponsored by China Association of Automation (CAA) and hosted by Shandong University was held in Jinan, Shandong Province, which is also the Intelligent Manufacturing International Conference. 18 teachers in automation and other majors from YSU attended the Congress. YSU Prof. Fucai Liu’s team won Second Prize of 2017 CAA Higher Education and Teaching Achievements Award. Prof. Chunxia Dou’s team, cooperated with Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, won 2017 CAA Natural Science Award. And Associate Professor Zhenhu Liang won Third Prize at 8thABB Cup National Automation System Engineer Thesis Competition.

Teams and individuals were rewarded by CAA on CAC for their outstanding contributions to teaching, research and achievements promotion in automation with many awards including CAA Teaching Achievements Award, Natural Science Award, Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award, and ABB Cup National Automation System Engineer Thesis Award
Held biennially, CAC is the most influential academic event in China’s automation. Themed by “Intelligent Automation Changes the World”, this session contained about 150 invited reports, 300 thesis presentations and 31 topics from invited teams, which were closely related to industry-university-research of Control Science and Intelligent Manufacturing Automation, attracting over 3000 attendees. 12 domestic and abroad academicians in automation, electrical information and technology, advanced manufacture and artificial intelligence, and over 200 Channgjiang Scholars, National Distinguished Young Scholars, and Thousand Talents Plan Scholars were gathered together to discuss the intelligent manufacture and the future development of automation industry. YSU attendees exchanged and discussed with peer experts, and actively publicized on the congress, which expands the influence of YSU Control Science and Engineering interiorly, and deepens the academia’s understandings of YSU.
