MOHRSS 5th National Large and Medium-sized City Tour Recruitment Fair (Qinhuangdao) Was Successfully Held

[News from News Center] On Oct. 27thmorning, MOHRSS (Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security) 5thNational Large and Medium-sized City Tour Recruitment Fair (Qinhuangdao) was held at Building of Liren, West Campus, which is also the YSU Autumn Employment Fair for 2018 Graduates. With 22051 jobs from over 800 employers provided, the Fair featured large scale, high-level employers, wide requirements coverage, and balanced supply and demand.

As the tour station of key recruitment activity set by MOHRSS in Hebei Province for the first time, this year’s YSU Autumn Employment Fair with large scale was a key supportive measure by higher authority to improve the level of employment platform and boost the high-quality employment of graduates. As the organizer, YSU was given affirm and recognition to graduates employment work of our university in recent years by National Talent Flow Center under MOHRSS. The Fair attracted government sectors, enterprises and public institutions from 6 state-level city agglomerations including Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and Yangtze River Delta. Over 2000 representatives attended the Fair, attracting over 10000 college students.

The Fair was the largest concentrated recruitment activity in Qinhuangdao this year with high-level participating units. Among over 800 enterprises and public institutions, there are 106 central enterprises including Aerospace and CSIC, 97 local governments and industry talent institutions including Tianjin SASAC and China Nonferrous Metal Talents, 43 public institutions and scientific research institutions including Institute of Applied Mathematics under Hebei Academy of Sciences and Henan Polytechnic University, and 52 Fortune 500 enterprises including SMC (China) Corporation and Tsinghua TONGFANG. Besides, 71 China top 500 enterprises, 48 state-level high and new technology enterprises, and 267 well-known private, foreign and joint venture enterprises also attended the Fair.

The Employment Fair selected enterprises and public institutions in various industries to fully meet the employment needs of students with wide demand coverage. Over 800 employers involved 19 industries of national economy, including manufacturing, scientific research, technology service, and education, covering all disciplines and majors of YSU and providing 22051 employments containing 5687 for masters and 16364 for undergraduates. The data rose sharply compared to the same period in past years. The Fair also attracted nonlocal graduates from Beijing, Tianjin and other cities.

All YSU departments worked together to build a supply-demand platform, reaching a balanced supply and demand. In order to well run this meeting, Vice President Dingxuan Zhao stressed at the preparatory meeting that “the requirements of refined management and professional services should be implemented in the preparatory work and all affairs”. During the preparation of the Fair, the Party Committee Publicity Department, Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, Student Affairs Office, Security Office, Alumni Office, the Logistics Group and all YSU schools assisted the Admissions and Career Development Services in information dissemination, enterprises invitation, venue layout, volunteer service, registration and reception, student organization, campus traffic, safety management, etc., which guaranteed the smooth conduct of the Fair. According to the employers’ feedback, they gave a high evaluation and praise to the organization and service. Up to now, more than 300 graduates have signed the employment agreements with the employers, and more than 520 graduates reached the signing intention to the employers. The numbers reached a peak.

During the Fair, Dingxuan Zhao guided the work and exchanged with the representatives of participating enterprises and graduates. On behalf of YSU, he extended warm welcome to the employers for their recruitment, and encouraged graduates to “set lofty ideals, enter the mainstream industry, and achieve a brilliant life”. It is clear from this year’s employment fair that the employers have improved the recognition to YSU graduates. Recruiters of the Nanning government said that YSU graduates owned comprehensive quality. And they hope that YSU can continue to deepen the cooperation in talent transmission and precision docking, which fully reflects the improved level of education and management of YSU.

The success of the employment fair also benefited from the targeted management and service of the Admissions and Career Development Services. During the one-month preparation, from the announcement of the meeting to mailing invitation letter, from visiting the employers to the venue layout and delegates reception, from the establishment of the enterprise recruitment information display rack to information network and various types of information release on Wechat, all measures effectively improved work efficiency and service quality. The realization of accurate docking between graduates and employers promoted YSU’s reputation.

The Fair is the first large-scale Employment Fair organized for 2018 graduates. Before the Fair, 393 employers have been invited to YSU and 283 campus employment fairs have been held. In the future, YSU will keep strengthening the contact and cooperation with employers, and take efficient measures to promote the employment of graduates.
