[News from the News Center]In order to solve the problems that restrict YSU’s reform and development, and speed up the construction of top-ranking university with distinct characteristics, Meng Weidong, Secretaryof CPCCommittee of YSU, Wang Baocheng, member of the Party committee and other directors from Party Committee Office, the Organization Department of the Party Committee, Graduate School, Finance Office and Division of International Cooperation, headed for Zhengzhou University (ZZU), Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) and Hunan University (HNU) mainly for study and research on Party construction and ideological and political work, subject optimization and adjustment and construction of first-class disciplines, Chinese-foreign cooperation in joint education, sub-financial management, generating income and distribution policy etc.
YSU delegation in ZZU
On April 11 morning, the delegation arrived at ZUU and was warmly received by Niu Shucheng, Secretary of CPC Committee of ZZU, Li Xingcheng, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of ZZU and other relevant officials. At the forum, Niu Shucheng expressed warm welcome to the delegation and gave a brief introduction on ZZU. He said that YSU, a university with a long history, has made great achievements in engineering talents cultivation, State Key Laboratory construction and major scientific research projects award these years. It is hoped that the two universities can have further communication and cooperation, and make more new contributions to higher education insomuch as it can strengthen the national development and promote regional economic and social development. Meng Weidong congratulated ZZU for being selected as the world-class university and affirmed its fast development. He expressed thanks for ZZU’s warm welcome and gave a brief introduction to YSU and the purpose of the visit. He said we will learn the valuable experience and successful practice in running a university from ZZU and take the opportunity of the investigation and communication to strengthen the relationship, cooperation and communication between the two universities, and promote common development. The delegation also visited the History Museum of ZUU. The counterparts of the two universities had an in-depth communication.
YSU delegation in WUT
On April 12morning, the delegation arrived at WUT and was warmly received by Xin Sijin, Secretary of the CPC Committee of WUT, Zhao Jing Deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of WUT and other relevant officials. At the forum, Xin Sijin gave a brief introduction to personnel training, scientific research and serving the regional economy. He said the two universities both have distinct characteristics and advantages. He hoped that more opportunities and platforms can be created, and more substantial results could be achieved in order to start a new process of cooperation and communication between two universities. Meng Weidong expressed thanks for WUT’s warm welcome, and briefly introduced YSU and the purpose of the visit. He said WUT has made great achievements in construction and development these years, and he hoped that YSU can learn from WUT for its experience and practice in discipline construction, internal management and cooperative education to promote YSU’s further development. The counterparts of the two universities had an in-depth communication about the characteristic construction of CPC and financial management.
YSU delegation in HNU
On April 13 morning, the delegation arrived at HNU and was warmly received by Duan Xianzhong, President of HNU, Yu Xiangcheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of HNU, and other relevant officials. At the forum, Duan Xianzhong expressed warm welcome to Meng Weidong and the delegation. He introduced HNU’s development strategy and efforts in some aspects such as undergraduate education, faculty construction and resource allocation. He said, as a university belonging to the former Ministry of Machinery Industry, HNU has a similar historical origin to YSU and established close cooperative relationship with YSU. It is hoped that the two universities extend mutual support and pursue common development. Meng Weidong expressed thanks to HNU’s warm welcome and he said it is a great honor to study and investigate in HNU, known as millennium academy and century-old university. He briefly introduced the development of YSU. He said that both universities were members of former Ministry of Machinery Industry thus the two universities have a friendly relationship and close cooperation. He thanked HNU’s long-term support and hoped that the two universities can make some joint efforts and make more achievements. The delegation had an in-depth communication with the relevant officials of HNU and visited their departments and sections.
During the investigation, the delegation made use of the evenings discussing and exchanging ideas on the research content, and proposed some thought and ideas about the work in reality and summarized investigation results in time. Research report is underway and will serve as a reference for YSU’s future relevant decision-making.
