YSU’s 13th Host Contest Ended

[News from the news center] on April 15, the thirteenth host contest with the theme of “Let a dream and youth fly together” was held in Room 109 of the Student Activity Center of YSU’s East Campus. Zhang Yang, DeputySecretary of YSU’s YLC, attended the event. The contest also invited the hosts of Qinhuangdao TV station Anna, Rong Rong, Zhang Hanshuo, Qin Xiaodao traffic broadcast host Xiao Zhi, and Song Jun, an Associate Professor and postgraduate supervisor of School of Art and Design serve as judges of the competition. After three rounds of fierce competition, Xu Ya’nan from the Humanities and Law won the first prize, and Zhou Guanfu from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Li Runjiao from the School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering won the second and third prize respectively. The best popularity award was won by Li Runjiao.

The top ten players who stood out after a series of selections took more than a month of intense preparations brought a wonderful audio-visual feast to the guests and audience. The contest was divided into three parts: hosting simulation, talent show and debate session. In the hosting simulation session, the top ten contestants traced back history, cherishing the present, paying attention to the humanities and focusing on nature. They thrilled the audience with vivid language, showing the profound cultural qualities and solid presiding skills of YSU’s students. In the talent show, different styles of dancing, humorous comic dialogues, fantastic magic, beautiful singing sounds, and magnificent flag dance performances all demonstrated the youthful vitality of college students. There are four groups in debate session, and the contestants in pairs showed each other good ability of rapid response and language expression. The commentators gave full recognition to the wonderful performance of each group and also made some pertinent suggestions.

The event was sponsored by YSU’s CCYL and organized by YSU’s Association of Societies. The host contest is one of the cultural brand activities of our school. It provides a stage for the students to show themselves. It also fully demonstrates the vibrant spirit and comprehensive quality of our students and enriches the campus cultural life.
