[News from the News Center] On Apr. 13th, MOHRSS 5th National Large and Medium-sized City Spring Tour Recruitment Fair (YSU Station) was held at YSU Liren Teaching Building and Lecture Halls of the West Campus. The Fair was sponsored by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) and held by National Talents Flow Center under MOHRSS and YSU. 810 enterprises and public institutions from 83 cities of 21 provinces provided 26058 jobs for employees including 19389 for undergraduates and 6669 for graduate students. The jobs demand covered all disciplines and majors of YSU. Besides YSU graduates, the Fair also attracts nearly 7000 this year’s and previous graduates from the Northeast University at Qinhuangdao, Liaoning University, Hebei University of Technology, University of Science & Technology Beijing and Taiyuan University of Technology.

School leaders attached great importance to the Fair. YSU President Liu Hongmin and Vice President Zhao Dingxuan personally visited the venue to instruct the work. They cordially visited the representatives of the participating companies, the school staff on duty, and the graduates seeking jobs. The school leaders fully affirmed the significant progress made on the employment work of YSU graduates, and encouraged everyone to continue to strengthen their confidence, lay a solid foundation for YSU as a mainstream camp for graduates from nationwide colleges and universities, and actively guide graduates to divert attention to China’s development direction,to work hardmaking new contributions to the construction and development of Chinaas well asthe “double first-class” construction of YSUin the new era. The relevant leaders of the President Office, Party committee, Admissions and Career Services Office and Liren College accompanied in the inspection.
In order to make a success ofthe Fair, related departments have done lots of meticulous preparatory work. Firtly, they elaborately planned and pursued for a breakthrough. From the second half of last year, YSU began to make plans. Zhao Dingxuan has conducted several researches on the work plans for the set-upof the YSU Station of MOHRSS National Tour Recruitment Fair. Admissions and Career Services Office and the National Talents Flow Center of MOHRSS conducted vast communication in the early stage. Finally, YSU was chosen as an independent site for spring tour recruitment. YSU and Renmin University of China were the only two universities which independently set the recruitment sites,strongly showing that the level and influence of YSU graduates on the supply and demand platform of the graduate employment market have gained widerecognitionfrom the employment authorities.YSU will also further expand its employment popularity and influence in running schools.

Secondly, YSU delegations actively visited the employers, guided the graduatesinsideschool and connect the employers outside. Since the beginning of this semester, the Admissions and Career Services Office has coordinated and organized 8 schools to send 12 work groups consisting of a total of 36 faculty (including 15 professional teachers).They visited more than 200 employers in 24 cities of 12 provinces including Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi and Liaoning Province. The groups participated in 5 talent employment exchange meeting and extensively contacted employers. The Office also attaches great importance to the informationrelease on the employment platform. Since this semester, 721 recruitment information and 7224 employment short messages have been sent. 51 employment messages in 22 WeChat articles were released which gained 47,740 person-times of reading. The WeChat account has been followed byover 10,000 users. At the same time, the Office coordinated all departments to carry out many campus job fairs. 163 campus job fairs have been organized with 204 participating companies, including the No.2 Research Institution of CASIC, China South Industries Group Corporation, China Railway 11 Bureau Group Co., Ltd, and BBMG Corporation.

Thirdly, all departments cooperate serving the overall plan. During the preparation and the Fair, the Party Committee Publicity Department, Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, Student Affairs Office, Security Office, Alumni Office, the Logistics Group and all schools assisted the Admissions and Career Services Office in amounts of meticulous and fruitful work, which strongly guarantee the success of the Fair.
The quality of the participating employers in the Fair hit another record high. Since the beginning of this year, with the deepening of China’s new and old kinetic energy conversion and innovation-driven development strategy, the job market demand in the first quarter has rebounded. In addition, due to the ever-increasing popularity and influence of YSU supply and demand platform in the employment market, coupled with the high recognition givento the quality of YSU graduates by various employers in various sectors of society, lots of employers in different regions signed up actively since the invitation letters were sent since March. Before the Fair, the applying employers were carefully screened by the Admissions and Career Services Office. Among the more than 1,000 applicants, 810 employers were selected which brought many high-quality resources across the country. Among all the employers, there are121 world’s top 500 companies, accounting for 14.94%; 162 the top 500 companies in China accounted for 20.00%; 137 large state-owned enterprises accounted for 16.91%; and 130China's top 500 private enterprises accounted for 16.05%. These employers includestate key enterprisessuch as China National Nuclear Corporation, AVIC, China South, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, institutions of higher learning such as Yangzhou University and Criminal Investigation Police University of China, alumni enterprises such as Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and well-known enterprises in and outside of Qinhuangdao such as SINOLION. 89.88% of the employers are from other cities. The industries of all employers are involved in manufacturing, scientific research and technology services, information transmission, software and information technology services, education, finance, transportation, health and social work, and other 18 national economic sectors.

The Fair highlighted the characteristic of targeted employment. The Fair enabled YSU graduates to communicate with employers and choose a job inside the campus, which provided service for graduates’cross-regionaljob seeking and convenience for every region’s cross-regional talents introducing. The poster of targeted employment was put up at the full position of the Fair, which was made by National Talents Flow Center aiming at the Spring Tour Recruitment Fair to help in the effective docking between the supply and demand parties, and provide accurate push service. According to incomplete statistics, during the Fair, over 600 YSU graduates reached the contract signing intention to the employers, and more graduates are in the employment procedure of written examinationor interview.
