[News from the News Center] On Apr 22nd, the examination and evaluation meeting for YSU’s “National & Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Advanced Manufacture Forming Technology and Equipment” (the Center hereinafter) was held at the No.2 Reception Room, the Century Building. The examination and evaluation committee consists of the experts from Hebei Development and Reform Commission. The Deputy Director of High-tech Industry Office under Hebei Development and Reform Commission Du Bin and relevant directors of Qinhuangdao Development and Reform Commission attended the meeting as well as YSU Vice President Kong Xiangdong, Zhao Dingxuan and relevant directors of YSU Science and Technology Research Institute, Financial Department, and the Center.

The meeting was hosted by Du Bin. Zhao Dingxuan, on behalf of YSU, delivered the welcoming speech and introduced the history and development of YSU.

Prof. Yan Liang from Beihang University, the expert group leader, hosted the examination and evaluation process. The Director of the Center Prof. Liu Xingang gave the report on the construction of the Center in four main parts: the basic information, the performance during the construction, short and mid-term tasks and goals, and the audit of returns. The experts conducted inspection on site and verified relevant materialsabout achievement.After inquiry, oral defense and discussion, the committee consent to pass the examination and evaluation because the experts considered that the Center has been accomplished in construction and reached to the overall goals and requirements.

Kong Xiangdong said that YSU would comprehend andimplementthe valuable comments and suggestions of the experts and leaders earnestly. Taking this examination as opportunity, YSU will strengthen the work of the Center to reach a new level. He also extended sincere gratitude to the experts and leaders and hoped they can continuously pay attention and support to the construction of the Center.

Du Bin admired the construction achievements of the Center. He hoped that the Center can positively promoted the R&D strength and achievement transformation level aiming at new direction and new fields by virtue of discipline advantages, thus better support and serve the economic development and industrial transformation of China and Hebei Province.
The National & Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Advanced Manufacture Forming Technology and Equipment was approved to construct by NationalDevelopment and Reform Commission on Oct. 2nd, 2012. The Center has acquired strong support and help from YSU relevant departments and higher authorities since the beginning of the construction.
