[News from the News Center]On April 22th, the 2018 University Students Mechanical Design Innovation Competition of Hebei Province, also the 8th National University Students Mechanical Innovation Design Competition of Hebei Province preliminary ended at Shijiazhuang Tiedao University. After a fierce rivalry, 14 competition designs from School of Mechanical Engineering of YSU won awards,three designs won special awards, six designs the first awards,two designs the second awards, two designs the third awards, and one design good award. Among these, the three specialawards,the continuous auxiliary artificial pineapple picking machine instructed by Yao Jiantao, the new type non-evasive folding parking device instructed by Zhang Liandong and the Sixty million dollar man parking facility instructed by Guo Rui, were all recommend to competewith other contestant inthe national finals. Meanwhile, YSU also won the awards for Excellent Organization.

The competition started from March, 2017, School of Mechanical Engineering as competition organizing committee secretariat of Hebei and Shijiazhuang Tiedao University as organizer had made plenty of organizing and preparing works. The competition was themed with people’s livelihood and living environment, attracted more than 700 contestants and their instructors with 230 competition works to participate the competition from 36 high universities in province. The number of competition works reached a new record and the level of designs was significantly improved.

University and School’s leaders highly valued this competition. After some procedures such as school application, project selecting, multiple rounds review and designers'answer, physical production, school level selection and perfect the preparation before competition of province, 14 excellent works were developed to participate in preliminary competition of Hebei province. At the spot of the competition every contestant took it seriously, which showed YSU students’ excellent comprehensive quality and the ability of innovation in science and technology.

Zhang Lijie, Professor of School of Mechanical Engineering of YSU, as a committee member of mechanical innovation design competition organizing committee of Hebei province and director committee member of judging committee, attended this competition’s opening ceremony and closing ceremony and declared the competition process and competition results on behalf of competition organizing committee and judging committee. Cai Xingzhou, Secretary of Party Committee of school, attended the competition closing ceremony and granted awards for contestants.
National University Student Mechanical Innovation Design Competition is one of the four competitions among national universities organized by Mechanical Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education. At present, University Student Mechanical Innovation Design Competition of Hebei Province has successfully held five times. Through the competitions, a plenty of excellent innovative works stood out in every period and many contestants had the chance to improve themselves, which effectively promote the development of engineering innovation in talents of universities of Hebei province.
