[News from the News Center] Recently, the Hebei Education Department issued the “Decision on the Recognition of the Year University Counselors in Hebei Province 2018” ( [2018] No.134). The counselors Wang Yichen and Yululu from the School of Materials Science and Engineering and Liren College respectively were awarded the title “2018 Hebei University Counselor of the Year”.
The selection event was organized by the Education Department of Hebei Province. It mainly awards the counselors who have high moral quality, and has outstanding professionalism. These excellent counselors can creatively carry out student supervision work. 10 counselors were selected through recommendation and expert evaluation. These counselors selected are representatives of their colleges.
The counselor Wang Yichen
Wang Yichen has been working as a counselor for 12 years, assisting and supervising a total of 2,936 students of Bachelors, Masters and PhD students. She directed 492 league branches, and carried out more than 1,000 education classes. She integrates psychological education into the elite training system.
She creates a “Four-in-one” science and technology education system, through science popularization activities, one-line competition, academic exchange platform and materials, and lecture stimulate students’ scientific research interest and helps students to lay a solid foundation for their majors. The passing rate of postgraduate entrance examinations is over 50%. Some students won many national and provincial science and technology competition awards. Some students have entered the expert team and participated in relevant technical problems.
She led the students to serve the society. She encouraged student to participated n the social practice. They organized some projects featuring protecting the ocean and surveyed a number of sea areas to conduct research and form reports for the State Oceanic Administration and other departments. Wang Yichen was registered in national second-level professional instructor and third-level psychological counselor. She was also awarded the several honorary titles.
The counselor Yu Lulu
In the past ten years, Yu Lu has been adhering to the motto of “Valuing Virtue, Pursuing Knowledge, and Seeking Truth”, and sparesno efforts in assisting and supervising students. She has successively obtained the national second-level professional instructor and the national third-level psychological counselor. In particular, she has participated in the training course of national key counselors in the past two years, and as a team member, she helped Liren College to win the special award of the 4th College Counselor Professional Ability Competition in Hebei Province. She also take the advantage of the online platforms the “Counselor’s Lecture Hall” and “Sisters Lu Live Room” to interact with students in order to help students establish a sense of rules.
In recent years, YSU counselors have undertaken heavy workload, however, YSU counselors are united and cooperative in their teams. Everyone is willing to contribute and work hard, not only to overcome various difficulties, but also to complete various tasks. Wang Yichen and Yu Luzhen are the representatives of the team of counselors in our university. The two counselors awarded the honorary title “2018 Hebei University Counselor of the Year” is a high recognition for their individual contributions as well as the counselor team, which greatly encourages the counselors in our university to dedicate to contribute to the education in our university.
