YSU won the “Good Design” Creative Award for China’s Innovative Design

[News from the News Center] On December 9, the 2018 China Innovation Design Conference –Good Design Awarding Ceremony was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The parking equipment “Transformer King Kong” designed by YSU students under the instruction of YSU teacher Guo Rui and Lv Shijun from the School of Mechanical Engineering won the creative award. This is the first time that YSU has won the award.

The “Transformer King Kong” parking equipment was designed by undergraduate students of the School of Mechanical Engineering: Sun Meng, Geng Binbin, Zhu Jiaqi, Liang Xu and Huang Licheng. The design is to modularize the parking equipment and assemble it by rational selection of appropriate components. In order to maximize the use of the idle space in the community, and this design can be placed in the parking facilities of various locations in the community to conduct center control, intelligent allocation of vacancies, which facilitates the daily life of the residents.

The “Good Design Award” was co-sponsored by the China Innovation Design Industry Strategic Alliance and the Chinese Academy of Engineering-China Knowledge Center for Engineering Sciences and Technology. It based on the National High-tech Think Tank of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the Academician Lu Yongxiang was the initiator of the award. Academician Pan Yunhe served as the Director of the Expert Committee. It has been officially filed in the National Science and Technology Awards Office, and the record name is “Good Design”. Under the joint efforts of nearly 20 academicians and more than 100 experts, after the preliminary evaluation and final review of the Good Design Expert Committee, a total of 70 projects were awarded in 2018 including 10 Gold Award represented by the AG600 amphibious aircraft, 20 Silver Awards represented by thousands of tons of concrete precast beams, and 40 Creative Awards for college students.
