[News from the News Center] On Apr. 16, YSU signs strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute Co., Ltd. (BMHRI). Tang Chao, BMHRI president and general manager, Sun Jize, BMHRI Party Secretary, and Kong Xiangdong, YSU Vice President attended the signing ceremony as well as leaders from YSU Science and Technology Research Institute, the School of Mechanical Engineering, and YSU Science Park. The two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on promoting the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, implementing the requirements of the strategic cooperation agreement between the People’s Government of Hebei Province and China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach), and establishing a comprehensive cooperation between schools and enterprises.
Tang Chao extended warm welcome to Kong Xiangdong and his delegation, and introduced in detail the achievements of BMHRI in recent years in scientific research, engineering industry and third-party services. Kong Xiangdong reviewed the origins and cooperation background ofthe two sides, and introduced the history of YSU and the industry-universityintegration in YSU. Kong pointed out that there existed a board space for cooperation between the two sides, and YSU would like to cooperate with BMHRI inscientific research cooperation, achievement transformation, and talent cultivation, and to support the technology innovation system of the industry. Besides, Kong proposed that both sides should find a proper way for their cooperation in the advantageous fields with an active and pragmatic attitude, and ensure the results of the cooperation.

According to the agreement, YSU and BMHRI will establish a cooperative development mechanism in information sharing, communication, consultation, and collaboration in the agreed issues, focusing on the cooperation in industry service, industry incubation, scientific research cooperation, international exchange, education and training and other fields.
Affiliated to Sinomach, BMHRI is leading the industry in five major business areas: passenger ropeway, automated logistics warehousing, lifting machinery, material handling, inspection and testing. It has undertaken nearly 2,000 projects, inspected more than 32,000 lifting and transporting machinery, test more than 8,000 ropeways, and set more than 300 national standards and more than 200 industrial standards. Many institutions set their secretariats at BMHRI, including: China Ropeway Association, CMES Logistics Engineering Institution, CCMA Industrial Truck Institution, CHMIA Logistics Equipment Institute, China Electrical Overhead Crane Committee, and Standardization Technology Committees for national lifting machinery, continuous handling machinery, logistics storage equipment and industrial vehicles.BMHRI plays an important role in the technology progress of the handling machinery industry in China.
