YSU School of Economics and Management hosted the 2019 International Symposium on “Leadership Research in Organizational Behavior and High Quality Paper Publication”

[News from the News Center] On June 29, the 2019 International Symposium on “Leadership Research in Organizational Behavior and High Quality Paper Publication” jointly organized by Yanshan University School of Economics and Management and China Human Resources Development Research Association was held in Qinhuangdao. The conference focused on cutting-edge research in the field of organizational behavior and human resource management, and invited well-known experts and researchers at home and abroad to discuss issues such as the latest trends and developments within the field. More than 170 scholars from more than 80 universities in Canada, the United States and China attended the conference.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Prof. Chen Jingpu, Associate Dean of the School of Economics and Management. Prof. Li Chunling, Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Yanshan University, gave a welcome speech. She briefly introduced the history of YSU and the School of Economics and Management, the achievements in teaching and research work in recent years. At the same time, she hoped the conference can inspire the majority of scholars to achieve more fruitful results.

Three Canadian experts were invited to give a keynote speech. Karl Aquino, a professor at the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business, gave a report titled “By Their Fruits: Predictors and Consequences of Signaling Virtuous Victimhood.” Prof. Zhong Chenbo from the Department of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management at the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto gave a report entitled “Markets Increase Tolerance: A Social Relational Analysis”. Associate Prof. Zhu Lei from the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba gave a report entitled “Identity expression as a response to justice failure”.

In the open discussion session, Prof. Aquino, Prof. Zhong Chenbo, Associate Prof. Zhu Lei and Dr. Brendan Strejeck focused on “how to improve the English academic writing”, “How to improve the publishing ability of quality papers” and “How to overcome the problems encountered in the research”.

In the three sub-forums in the afternoon, more than 30 teams reported on the latest research results. The four experts gave thoughtful comments on the paper and made a pertinent and constructive opinion on how to improve and publish the paper.

The meeting was highly praised by the participants. The participants not only improved their academic ability, but also broadened their research horizons, enhanced international exchanges, and had a better understanding of how to get the paper published. At the same time, this conference also enhanced the international influence of Yanshan University’s School of Economics and Management in the field of organizational behavior and human resource management, and helped the development of the discipline of business administration at YSU.
