The China Graduate Robot Innovation Design Competition is one of the China Graduate Innovation Practice Series Competitions. It is hosted by the Ministry of Education’s Degree and Graduate Education Development Center and the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Science and Technology Center. The competition aims to enhance the awareness of graduate students’ innovation and entrepreneurship, and to cultivate graduate design capabilities and promote the innovative development of robotics technology. The competition featured the era of robotic intelligence. The projects submitted were divided into three categories: creative design group, software simulation group and physical display group. A total of 2 special prizes, 17 first prizes, 32 second prizes and 39 outstanding organization awards would be awarded.
The contest began in April and a total of 1311 teams from 220 universities nationwide signed up for the competition. Our university organized 29 teams from the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Electrical Engineering, the School of Information Science and Engineering, and the School of Art and Design to participate in the competition. After submitting the entries online in the preliminary competition, 160 teams from 96 colleges and universities entered the finals, and 3 teams from our university entered the finals.
Since the Ministry of Education’s Degree and Graduate Education Development Center and the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Science and Technology Center jointly held the “China Postgraduate Innovation Practice Series Competition” in 2013, our university has launched a comprehensive reform for postgraduate education with the aim of “service oriented and quality improvement”. We encourage graduate students to actively participate in various competitions, and has achieved many outstanding achievements in the mathematical modeling competition, electronic design competition, energy equipment innovation design competition and other events. In the future, our university will further increase the support for postgraduate academic competitions, encourage graduate students to participate in high-level academic competitions, continuously improve their innovation ability and education quality as well.
