The 14th “NXP Cup Smart Car Competition” national finals were held at Shandong University (Weihai). Under the guidance of Song Junjie, Hu Zhongquan, Luo Xi and Liu Kai, the seven teams sent by YSU Liren College competed in the North China region. After fierce competition, a total of 6 teams successfully entered the national finals, and won one national First Prize, six Second Prizes, two Third Prizes, six provincial First Prizes and one Second Prize. This is the best achievement we have among more than 70 colleges and universities in the five provinces of North China.

The National Undergraduate “NXP” Cup Smart Car Competition is a national first-class competition. It is a creative science and technology competition sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education's Automation Teaching Guidance Committee. Since its establishment in 2006, with the support of hundreds of universities across the country, it has been popularized in more than 500 colleges and universities in more than 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country, and has been promoted to the United States, Europe, Japan, Korea and other countries and regions.
The competition is divided into four groups: four-wheel group, three-wheel group, two-car group, wireless energy-saving group, beacon group, outdoor electromagnetic group, outdoor photoelectric creative group, indoor game creative group, primary and secondary school group and other 9 groups. There were nearly 20,000 college students of more than 3,000 teams from 300 colleges and universities attended the competition.
The “NXP Cup” National College Student Smart Car Competition is the main brand event of the Department of Electrical Engineering of YSU Liren College. In recent years, the results have been continuously improved, and in 2016, it won the first provincial first prize, and won national prizes in 2017 and 2018.
