The meeting was hosted by Guo Bin. Zhou Yu, on behalf of Harbin Institute of Technology, gave a welcome speech. He believed that YSU is a distinctive university and highly praised the development and achievements that our university has achieved since its independent running of university. Zhou Yu deeply reviewed the historical origins of the Northeast Heavy Machinery Institute and Harbin Institute of Technology, and believed that both universitieshave made important contributions to the industrialization of New China. Zhou Yu hopes that YSU can base in Hebei, fully grasp the major development opportunities such as the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the planning and construction of Hebei Xiong’an New District, and achieve new and greater achievements in the future. Zhou Yu also said that YSU is connected with Harbin Institute of Technology and has a natural emotional bond. It should strengthen cooperation in the future; Harbin Institute of Technology will also give more support to YSU in teaching, scientific research and discipline construction.

Before the symposium, Zhao Dingxuan and his delegation visited the Teacher and Student Service Center and Engineering Innovation Practice Center of Harbin Institute of Technology. After the symposium, Zhao Dingxuan and YSU delegation also met with Ding Xuemei, Vice President of Harbin Institute of Technology.
On the evening of October 9, Zhao Ding and YSU delegation arrived in Harbin and had a discussion with some Heilongjiang alumni. On behalf of Zhao Xianfeng, YSU Party Secretary, who was temporarily returned to Qinhuangdao for his urgent official duties, he greeted the Heilongjiang alumni and introduced our university to the alumni. The alumni were very excited about the development and achievements YSU has made these years.
