During the visit, YSU delegation and the head of the Qianhai Administration conducted in-depth discussion on the construction of the Shenzhen Research Institute. On the afternoon of November 12, Du Peng, member of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Qianhai Administration, and Assistant Secretary of the Qianhai Administration, met with the delegation. Du Peng introduced the basic situation of Shenzhen Qianhai Shekou Area and Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone (hereinafter “Qianhai”), and strongly affirmed the achievements of Yanshan University, and expressed warm welcome to YSU delegation.
Zhao Dingxuan introduced the basic situation of Yanshan University and pointed out that Qianhai, as a new era of national reform and opening up strategic platform set up by General Secretary Xi Jinping, the Party Central Committee attaches great importance to its development.
Yanshan University has the unique characteristics in serving our country, and it is hoped to actively participate in the construction and development of Qianhai and make its contribution to the construction of the pioneering demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. Du Peng agreed that the Shenzhen Research Institute of our university will be stationed in Qianhai, set up a post-doctoral workstation, and a national key laboratory R&D center, and will provide corresponding support in terms of work space and funding. The two sides then exchanged views on the preparations for YSU Shenzhen Research Institute. After the meeting, our delegation visited the Qianhai Exhibition Hall accompanied by Wen Ping.

On the morning of the 12, YSU delegation participated in the 2019 joint meeting of Shenzhen Virtual University Park as a special representative. Zhang Junku, Deputy Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, Wang Lixin, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen, and Xing Feng, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, delivered a speech at the meeting. On the afternoon of the 11, our delegation also visited the alumni entrepreneurial platform jointly built by Shenzhen alumni and the preparatory site of the Shenzhen Research Institute.
During the stay in Shenzhen, Zhao Dingxuan and Wang Desong and the delegation met with the former YSU Party Secretary, the Honorary President of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, Mr. Pei Guangfa and Gao Lin, YSU Alumni, and the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Commerce inspector. They exchanged views on the work of the 100thanniversary celebration and the construction of the Shenzhen Research Institute.
